Bridging AI, Project Management & Cybersecurity to build Secure and Resilient Systems in Critical Environments.
After completing my PhD, I built my career across data science, software development team leadership, and project management. Along the way, I also experienced firsthand the impact of a cyber attack, which profoundly changed my perspective on digital security. It taught me not only the risks organizations face, but also the importance of prevention, resilience, and effective protection measures. Today, I channel my scientific background, leadership experience, and passion for technology into cybersecurity, with the ambition to help build a safer and more trustworthy digital world.

Aorta Analyzer: 3D/4D representation of blood flow in the thoracic aorta from cine-MRI images
December 1, 2011 – Present
The project involved making a graphical user interface (using MATLAB) and a user manual for clinicians to visualize the 3D flow of blood in time through a certain cross-section of the aorta. The most interesting part of the problem was to automate the segmentation (detection) of the aorta, where our novelty involved in the automated detection of the aorta boundary using a smart edge detector (edge aware anisotropic diffusion). The reasons for choosing such an edge detector were [1] we needed to preserve the edges of the aorta, [2] we wanted to blur the internal regions of the aorta cross section, and [3] most importantly we did not want to over-segment the aorta boundary, as it would introduce unusual flood flow characteristics.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse educational background across multiple European institutions and experience in both academic research and industrial R&D suggests adaptability and a broad perspective. The project 'Aorta Analyzer' shows initiative and a focus on practical applications. The 'Line follower' project, while older, indicates an early interest in robotics and hands-on problem-solving. The career progression from Data Scientist to Manager at POLLEN Metrology demonstrates growth and leadership potential. The target role of Computer Vision aligns well with the candidate's core expertise and career trajectory. However, the recent enrollment in 'Secure infrastructure administration, Cybersecurity' and 'Consulting Services Specialist' role, while showing continuous learning, might indicate a slight shift in focus or a desire to broaden skills beyond pure Computer Vision, which could be further explored for cultural fit.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Manager Data Science and Technical Client Support at POLLEN Metrology indicates strong leadership, project management, and client relations skills. Involvement in Agile Scrum suggests an ability to work within structured development processes and manage team performance. The description of the 'Aorta Analyzer' project highlights problem-solving and analytical thinking. However, without specific psychometric test results, a deeper assessment of work attitude, stress handling, and team collaboration is not possible.
