CTO / VP Engineering | Engineering Transformation | Platform Modernisation | AI-Enabled Delivery | Building Predictable, High-Performance Engineering Organisations
I’m driven by a simple purpose: to transform engineering organisations so they can deliver great products reliably, predictably, and at scale. I specialise in leading engineering teams through periods of instability, fast growth, or architectural change. I bring structure where there is chaos, clarity where there is confusion, and an AI-first approach where teams need acceleration. I help engineering leaders and teams regain confidence by rebuilding operating rhythms, improving collaboration, strengthening architecture, and creating a culture of trust, ownership, and excellence. My passion is building engineering organisations that are predictable, accountable, collaborative, and capable of sustaining long-term innovation. I’ve led global teams, rebuilt engineering operating models, reduced defects and incidents, improved cloud efficiency, and delivered transformations that directly increased company valuation. My academic background — an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, an MBA, and a BEng in Computer Engineering — strengthens this work significantly. It gives me: - the technical depth to modernise platforms, enable AI-first engineering, and understand complex systems; - the business and financial discipline to align technology with strategy, value creation, and operating models; and - the engineering foundation to earn credibility with teams and lead with empathy, clarity, and technical authority. This combination of engineering expertise + AI capability + business acumen enables me to bridge the gap between technology, product, and commercial outcomes — and lead organisations through meaningful, measurable transformation. My approach blends deep engineering experience with a people-first leadership style. I partner closely with CEOs, product leaders, and cross-functional teams to build predictable delivery, improve quality, reduce cost, and create o

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's extensive experience in diverse companies, from startups to large enterprises, and managing globally distributed teams, suggests adaptability to various organizational cultures. Their involvement in CoderDojo and guest lecturing indicates a proactive approach to learning and contributing, which aligns with a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. However, the resume primarily highlights management and leadership roles, with less emphasis on direct backend engineering contributions in recent years, which might require careful consideration for a 'Backend Engineer' role, depending on the expected hands-on coding level.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic planning, and team management skills through their progression to senior executive roles. Their experience in transitioning teams, defining OKRs, and mentoring suggests a focus on operational excellence and people development. The descriptions highlight abilities in stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement, which are critical for senior leadership positions. The CoderDojo mentorship also indicates a commitment to community and knowledge sharing.
