Saliency detection
August 1, 2016 – Present
This project consists of determining computationally where a human focuses his attention on a picture. For a given picture, a saliency map, which indicates the areas of attention, is computed based on the model proposed by Itti et al. (1998). The project has been implemented on Matlab.
SVM for Classification of Cancerous Cells
March 1, 2016 – April 1, 2016
The goal of this project was to classify malignant cells from benign cells. The data used is the Wisconsin Diagnostic Breast Cancer (WDBC) data set. A Support Vector Machine algorithm has been implemented and tuned with Matlab.
Reinforcement learning for Grid navigation
March 1, 2016 – April 1, 2016
This project aims to make a robot navigate through a grid based on a starting point, an ending point and a reward function. A Q-learning algorithm has been implemented on Matlab to make the robot reach the goal.
Facial attributes recognition with Artificial Neural Network
February 1, 2016 – Present
This project consists of recognizing facial attributes on images such as male / female classification, smiling / non-smiling detection and glasses wearing recognition. The task has been realized thanks to a Multi-layer Neural Network for classification task.
Handwritten number classification using Self-Organizing Map
February 1, 2016 – Present
The goal of this project is to classify handwritten digits from 0 to 9. The data used is a part of the MNIST database. A learning algorithm based on Self-Organizing Map has been implemented on Matlab.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's project history shows a strong inclination towards machine learning and data-driven problem-solving, which aligns with a data analyst role. The diverse educational background (France, Singapore) and varied internship experiences suggest an open-minded and adaptable individual. However, the recent career transition to teaching, while demonstrating a commitment to education, might indicate a different career trajectory than a typical data analyst, potentially affecting long-term cultural fit within a fast-paced tech environment focused solely on data analysis.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a CTO suggests leadership and team management skills. The career change to teaching indicates adaptability and a potential interest in knowledge transfer. However, the current role as a high school teacher might suggest a shift away from a purely technical, industry-focused role, which could impact operational fit for a Data Analyst position requiring continuous hands-on data analysis.
