Building multimodal foundation models, synthetic data systems, and RL post-training pipelines at IBM Research
I am a Research Scientist in the Algorithms Design and Applications to Science team at IBM Research Europe. My work focuses on the design, analysis and discovery of novel algorithms for next-generation computing, particularly at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and quantum technologies. My research portfolio includes foundational contributions to artificial intelligence, from the development of multimodal foundation models to their rigorous evaluation in terms of reliability, trustworthiness and uncertainty. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Geneva (2021), an M.Phil. in Machine Learning, Speech and Language from the University of Cambridge (2017) and a B.Eng. in Information Technology Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome (2015). I can fluently speak English (C1), French (C1) and Italian (native). I can also understand and have basic interaction in Spanish (A1).

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's academic and research career path, including roles at prestigious institutions like the University of Cambridge and IBM, indicates a strong drive for continuous learning and contribution to advanced technical fields. The diversity of research projects and institutions suggests adaptability. However, the resume lacks explicit details on collaborative projects or community involvement outside of research, which could further demonstrate cultural fit for a team-oriented AI engineering role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's extensive research background suggests strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a capacity for independent work. The teaching experience indicates communication skills. However, the provided data does not offer specific insights into stress handling, team collaboration, or work attitude beyond the psychometric test's evaluation focus.
