Interests and aspirations- My research lies at the intersection of AI and networked/data systems, with a focus on distributed edge AI and data management in IoT. I work on data science applications in climate and health, including environmental monitoring (e.g., air pollution), smart buildings (e.g., energy efficiency), and digital health. My core interests also include knowledge discovery and sense-making from multimodal sensor data streams, spanning time series, audio, and textual data. I have extensive experience in sensor deployment, sensor data analysis and conducting real-world data collection studies. Research and academia experience: I lead the SUST.AI.N research lab, which focuses on developing digital technologies for social good, addressing pressing challenges in environmental sustainability, health, and well-being. Also, working/worked on 2 internally funded BITS projects as PI, 2 externally funded (DST, DRDO) projects as PI and 3 externally funded projects (DST, TIH, Industry) as Co-PI in research themes related to IoT and Data Science. In the past, I have been the Principal Investigator on a H2020 EU project "SocialTruth" and Co-Investigator on an Innovate UK funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership “Smart Ear protectioN in noiSy Environments” during my academic job at LSBU. I have worked as a postdoc on an Innovate UK research project related to Energy reduction in built environments using advanced data analytics on Building energy management systems (BEMS) data streams. I have also worked as a postdoc on an EPSRC-funded research project related to wheelchair accessibility at UCL and my role involved instrumenting the wheelchairs with smartphone and bespoke sensor devices to collect data and analyse the same for accessible way-finding for wheelchair users.
