DigiGirlz is a Microsoft held event which happens once every year, across the globe to give young female students the opportunity to learn about careers in technology, connect with Microsoft employees, and explore future career paths. Through learning from female leaders about what it's like to work for such a large corporation and participating in group tasks such as building an application from scratch, these girls are exposed to the diverse range of roles available in the technology industry. This year the core team was put in charge of organising the event, sourcing merchandise, organizing an Xbox Dance Central session, sourcing speakers and volunteers, and running the event. We had around 200 year 9 girls attend Microsoft offices in Reading for one day of technology theme based fun!
