Data & AI Leader | Knowledge Graphs, Semantic Modeling & Agentic AI | Adjunct Faculty, Northeastern | Speaker & Board Advisor | ex-Bose, Adobe, Stanley Black & Decker, Fidelity
I'm a senior data and AI leader, coach, and advisor with over two decades of experience building and scaling data organizations — from startups to global enterprises. The through-line of my career: AI rarely fails because the models are weak. It fails because the meaning underneath the data is ambiguous — and semantic modeling, ontologies, and knowledge graphs are the layer most pipelines are missing. I started at Fidelity and have since led data and engineering teams at Stanley Black & Decker, Bose, Adobe, Synopsys, Staples, Monster, and edX. Today, as Director of Data Engineering at Frontdoor, I lead data architecture, governance, and AI engineering across the business — multi-agent analytics, a governed semantic layer, ontology-driven pipelines, and a federated approach to agentic AI. That work is also why I teach. As adjunct faculty at Northeastern's College of Engineering, I built graduate courses in Data Engineering and Knowledge Graphs bridging classical semantic-web foundations to today's enterprise AI tools. I serve on CDO Magazine's editorial board, co-chair its Boston Leadership Committee, and speak regularly on semantic modeling and agentic AI — Snowflake Summit, ODSC East, and AIxED Connect in 2026. I hold an MBA from UMass Amherst's Isenberg School and an MS in Computer Science. Always happy to connect with people working on hard problems in data, AI, or how we teach the next generation to do it well.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience across various industries (home warranty, manufacturing, consumer electronics, software, education) and their involvement in industry leadership (CDO Magazine) suggest adaptability and a broad perspective. Their dedication to teaching and mentoring aligns with a culture of knowledge sharing and development. However, the target role of 'Data Engineering Intern' is fundamentally misaligned with their career trajectory and experience level, which could lead to dissatisfaction or a poor fit for a junior-level position.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning, as evidenced by their progression into senior leadership roles, academic contributions, and numerous executive certifications. Their experience in building and scaling data platforms, coupled with their teaching background, suggests excellent communication and mentoring skills. The focus on data governance, data as a product, and federated architectures indicates a strong operational fit for roles requiring robust, scalable, and well-managed data ecosystems. However, the target role of 'Data Engineering Intern' is a significant mismatch for their extensive senior-level experience.
