Group Product Manager · Tech Entrepreneur · Author (Product Sense Mastery) · Ex-Visa · IIM Bangalore · Gen AI, CX, Platform, Leadership
I am currently heading the platform product management team in India at Wolters Kluwer, where I focus on defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for multiple platform capabilities. In addition, I mentor and support a team of senior product managers. Previously, I co-founded GroundUp, where I served as CTO. GroundUp was established with the mission of making education more accessible and affordable, and within just two years, we scaled to over 900+ schools and 300K+ students. Before that, I worked as a product manager at Visa and NIUM. Prior to my MBA, I worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Varian Medical Systems, gaining strong programming and product development skills, along with experience in architecting web, mobile, and desktop applications. I hold an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a B.Tech from COEP. I am looking to grow my career in leadership roles, leveraging my expertise to drive innovation and deliver impactful products.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience, ranging from software engineering to multiple product management and co-founder roles, indicates a broad perspective and adaptability. Their involvement in mission-driven platforms (GroundUp) and entrepreneurial ventures suggests a proactive, innovative, and ownership-driven mindset. The transition from a technical engineering background to product leadership, and then to a Group Product Manager role, shows a strong drive for growth and impact. While the target role is Backend Engineer, their extensive product experience could bring a valuable customer-centric and strategic dimension to an engineering team, fostering better alignment between product and engineering. However, the long tenure in product management might mean a reduced focus on deep technical implementation details, which would need to be assessed for a pure backend engineering role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills through their various product management and co-founder roles. Their experience in building and scaling teams, driving product strategy, and engaging with customers indicates a high operational fit. The entrepreneurial background suggests adaptability, problem-solving, and a proactive approach, which are valuable for a senior role. However, the recent shift to primarily product management roles means direct hands-on coding and backend engineering operational fit needs further validation.
