Senior Lecturer and Resercher in Computing (Artificial Intelligence)
José Palma received a B.S. degree from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, in 1990 and a Ph.D degree from the University of Murcia, Spain, in 1999, both on Computer Science. He is Associate Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Information Engineering and Communications and the Computer Science School at the University of Murcia since 2000, but were being teaching in this department as Aggregate Professor since 1996. Prior to joining University of Murcia, he worked for 6 years in the Department of Computer Science and System at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He has authored/co-authored various journal articles, book chapters and congress papers. His research activity is focused on medical informatics, specifically in intelligent data analysis, medical knowledge-based systems, clinical knowledge management and ambient intelligent applications. The main techniques used in this research are fuzzy-logic, knowledge-engineering methodologies, ontologies and temporal reasoning. Currently, José Palma research activity is carried out within the AIKE reserach group (Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering). Also he belongs to the board of directors of the AEPIA (Spanish Assocation for Aritificial Intelligence) and is member of the IEEE Engnineering in Medicine and Biology Society Specialties: Knowledge Engineering and Modelling, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Intelligent Data Analysis in Medicine, Ambient Intelligence, Temporal Reasoning, Cased-Based Reasoning.

January 1, 2014 – Present
The main goal of this project is to propose and develop an intelligent system to support an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP).
DIA+
October 1, 2010 – July 1, 2012
Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's background is heavily academic, focusing on research and lecturing in Artificial Intelligence. While this demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a strong foundation in AI, the direct cultural fit for a fast-paced, industry-focused Data Analyst role is not clearly evident. The projects are research-oriented rather than business-driven, which might require an adjustment to a more commercially focused environment. The lack of specified technologies in projects also limits the assessment of modern tool proficiency.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's long tenure in academia suggests strong dedication, analytical thinking, and a structured approach to problem-solving. The research projects imply an ability to work on complex, long-term initiatives. However, specific operational fit for a corporate data analyst role, including experience with agile methodologies, stakeholder communication, and business-driven data insights, cannot be fully assessed from the provided academic profile.
