Drum Sound Detection in Polyphonic Music with Hidden Markov Models
August 1, 2015 – October 1, 2015
We did an application that converts audio files to MIDI files with the drum notes transcribed from the audio file by Hidden Markov Models trained on MFCC feature vectors. A MATLAB implementation of the drum transcription method described in Jouni Paulus and Anssi Klapuri's original research paper. The project received the highest grade in the course Pattern Recognition at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Graph Visualization of Code Complexity - Software Development
November 1, 2013 – May 1, 2014
This is a course project focused on simulating real life software development. Each team chose a project, which was supplied by a client. In our case we chose a project called "Graph Visualization of Code Complexity" which was supplied by Ericsson. Over six months we worked agile using SCRUM developing a tool according to their requirements. My role in the project: Developer

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a diverse professional background, working in gaming (King, Embark Studios), media (Vionlabs, Schibsted Media Group), and music research (DoReMIR Music Research AB). This breadth of experience suggests adaptability to different industry contexts and problem domains. The progression from Software Engineer to Machine Learning Engineer and then Senior AI/ML Research Engineer indicates a clear career path and commitment to the ML field. The projects, including academic ones, show a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application, which is beneficial for a research-oriented ML role. The target role of 'ML Engineer' aligns well with the candidate's career trajectory and specialized experience.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's project descriptions, while brief, indicate experience in team-based software development (Graph Visualization of Code Complexity) and research assistant roles, suggesting an ability to collaborate and contribute to technical projects. The description of working agile using SCRUM points to familiarity with structured development methodologies. However, without specific psychometric or English test scores, a detailed assessment of soft skills, work attitude, stress handling, and team collaboration is not possible.
