Mind Matrix: LLM-Powered Data Synergy
February 1, 2024 – May 1, 2024
Traditional data preprocessing systems, with their rigid rule-based methodologies, fail to adapt to the complexities of modern datasets, resulting in inadequate data understanding and augmentation. Automated Machine Learning (AutoML) mitigates these issues by automating model selection and hyperparameter tuning, minimizing the need for human expertise. We propose an advanced approach integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into the data preprocessing pipeline to extract dataset context and enhance preprocessing. Utilizing chain-of-thought prompting and sophisticated prompt engineering, LLMs perform initial exploratory data analysis (EDA) to derive critical meta-data. This context-aware analysis identifies optimal preprocessing techniques—standardization, normalization, and data type conversion - customized for each dataset. The system then recommends the most suitable machine learning models and dynamically tunes hyperparameters for optimal performance. Our method sets new benchmarks in automated data preprocessing, significantly improving data comprehension, model selection precision, and overall workflow efficiency
