Machine Learning Engineering Consultant
I am a senior Machine Learning specialist with ten years of experience that includes six years building complex ML algorithms as a member of Amazon's retail and music organizations. Since 2018 I have served as an independent consultant, and my expertise includes Speech Processing, Natural Language Processing, Recommendation Systems, and Data Science. My project experience is detailed under GPSE Consulting below. In addition to my professional experience I hold a MS in Language Technology from Carnegie Mellon and a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. I have several published papers, was a contributor to the book "Crowdsourcing for Speech Processing: Applications to Data Collection, Transcription and Assessment" (Wiley, 2013), and I delivered presentations to both internal and external groups while at Amazon. I am also named on two Amazon patents. Recent public speaking includes a presentation on using cloud platforms to build ML systems (NextAI 2020, University of Montréal) and a discussion on what startups need for ML as part of an expert panel at Espace CDPQ in Quebec. Outside of work, I enjoy kite surfing, scuba diving, motorcycles, travel (30+ countries), and music (guitar, diatonic accordion, and killer karaoke).
