Project Horizon is a back-office testing initiative for the BETA system, a brokerage application that manages customer data and transaction details. The BETA platform is a vendor product that provides a complete brokerage processing solution, including trade execution, transaction processing, clearance, and settlement. The application is used by Wells Fargo Advisors for brokerage processing, including front, middle, and back-office processes. It also includes asset movements, General Ledger, and books and records for Broker-Dealer activity. The vendor application is also used to generate client statements, trade confirmations, other client communications, tax and regulatory reporting. This vendor application is out-sourced and runs at the vendor site. The core of the BETA platform is a mainframe. The IFT team is responsible for end-to-end testing, including regression, work requests, and change requests, ensuring system enhancements and stability. With extensive automation using UFT due to the BETA system being a Terminal-based application, the project incorporates manual testing for inconsistent functionalities and supports key business flows and integrations. Responsibilities Worked as both a Manual and Automation Tester. Understood user requirements and designed manual test cases. Executed manual test cases and tracked and updated defects in OpenText ALM. Involved in designing the automation framework. Took overall responsibility for scripts built by me and delivered automated test scripts with quality. Maintained test scripts using functions and descriptive programming. Created environment variables, data tables, web tables, etc., using UFT. Collaborated closely with the functional team during manual test case execution. Created data sheets for input/output values based on test cases. Analyzed reports generated from each test run. Ensured the entire end-user experience met expectations. The application streamlines workflows by offering tools for managing accounts, transfers, alternative investments, dividends, and reorganization payments. With features like trade life cycle management, settlement processing, and stock position tracking, it ensures seamless handling of financial operations. This system improves functionality, reduces manual effort, and enhances operational efficiency for financial workflows, making it an essential tool for back-office optimization and integration. Responsibilities Automated different types of test cases using Java. Involved in test case preparation, execution, and updating results in the test management tool. Scheduled various test suites using the Jenkins CI/CD tool. Filed defects using the JIRA bug-tracking tool. Attended daily stand-up meetings as part of the Agile process to provide daily updates. Used the Java Selenium WebDriver package to automate web applications. Developed new libraries to automate UI, CLI, and API test cases. Performed automation testing using the Page Object Model (POM).
