Chief Architect of Strategic Financing at CoreWeave
Ernie Rogers is the Chief Architect of Strategic Financing at CoreWeave. He joined CoreWeave in June of 2025 after spending several years working closely with the management team as a member of the CoreWeave Board of Directors. Prior to joining CoreWeave full time (and while he was on the Board of CoreWeave), Ernie was the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) at Magnetar, where he oversaw all aspects of the firm’s operations and finances, including managing a diverse array of both back-office and select front-office teams that constituted over half of Magnetar’s workforce. His leadership was pivotal in fostering innovation and operational efficiency across Magnetar businesses, as well as in the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at future-proofing the firm. As a senior executive, Ernie was involved in several key committees at Magnetar, including the Executive, Management, Valuation and (chair of the) Operations Committees. Additionally, Ernie led Magnetar’s exploration of investment opportunities in both Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence. It is in this capacity that he led Magnetar's investment in CoreWeave. Ernie began his tenure at Magnetar in 2005 on the Alternative Credit and Fixed Income team, previously serving as that business’ COO. He was one of the earliest members of Magnetar, joining shortly after its inception. In addition, Ernie’s efforts were crucial in scaling each of the firm’s businesses. He played a significant role in sourcing new investments, onboarding and expanding business platforms and helping to identify and develop top-tier talent, all of which collectively contributed to enhancing Magnetar’s culture, portfolio and investor offerings.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's professional background is almost exclusively in finance and asset management, with high-level executive and board roles. This profile does not align with a typical 'Software Engineer' role, which usually requires a strong technical background in programming, system design, and software development methodologies. There is no evidence of project diversity or skills breadth relevant to software engineering. Therefore, the cultural fit for a software engineering role is very low.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's resume indicates strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills from their extensive experience in CFO, COO, and board roles. Their background suggests a high capacity for decision-making, financial acumen, and managing complex organizational structures. However, there is no data to assess specific soft skills relevant to a software engineering role, such as collaboration within a development team or adaptability to technical changes.
