Semantic Question Matching with Word Embeddings features and Supervised Classification (Quora Question Similarity) | Kaggle
September 1, 2017 – Present
We are given a corpus of more than 400,000 question pairs which are either duplicates or not. A simple duplicate detection approach is a word-based comparison. Initial Data analysis was done to engineer important features which capture sentence similarity. The features included simple word share, word count. etc to Levenshtein Distances between the sentences using the fuzzywuzzy library in python. Used TSNE for Dimensionality reduction for visualization of sentence vectors. We initially used a standard information retrieval measures like tf-idf and BagofWords to find the word-based similarity between the two questions, then trained it on linear classifiers like Linear Regression and Linear SVM. More Complex word embedding features were them used in combination with tf-idf like Word2Vec, GloVe, SVD(Singular value decomposition) and a series of Linear and non-linear classifiers like RBF SVM, Linear Regression, Linear SVM, XG Boost. The highest accuracy of 0.82 was obtained on the train-test cross-validation set. We are on it to improve it even better.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's experience at Red Hat shows a long-term commitment to a single company, which can indicate loyalty and stability. The personal projects demonstrate initiative and a drive for continuous learning, particularly in the ML domain. The 'Founder' role suggests an entrepreneurial spirit. However, the projects are primarily personal and lack explicit team collaboration details, which could be a factor for cultural fit in a collaborative environment. The certifications are more IT infrastructure focused (CompTIA, RHCSA) rather than directly ML-related, which might indicate a broader technical interest but less direct alignment with a pure ML role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's progression at Red Hat suggests strong work ethic and ability to grow within an organization. The 'Founder' role at EXCELLENCY CLUB indicates leadership and initiative. However, without psychometric test results, a detailed assessment of logical reasoning, stress handling, and team collaboration is not possible.
