Technology and Business Innovator, Executive, and Advisor
A technical and business innovator across my career, I’m passionate about innovation, delivering delightful products at scale, and the talent, teamwork, and leadership this takes. I thrive on hard problems and big opportunities, and I have had the privilege of helping to grow some of the world's best companies. In 2022, I joined Imperva, an industry-leading security pure-play, as SVP and GM of Data Security, to drive growth on the path to spin back out of Thoma Bravo private equity. I launched the Imperva Data Security Fabric (DSF), an award-winning platform across data monitoring and AI/ML-driven risk assessment. In December 2023, Thales acquired Imperva, including for synergies in Data Security. Previously, I joined AWS and led product management for Database Services (DB, analytics, and AI/ML) outbound, spanning from new services to some of the world’s largest SW businesses. I expanded to include customer migration onto DBS services (e.g., Database Migration Service, DMS Fleet Advisor, Schema Conversion Tool, DB Freedom Program); GovCloud and isolated classified services; Amazon Data Lab where Solution Architects work as partners with customers; and benchmarking. Earlier as SVP, Datacenter Solutions Group at NetApp, I led a global organization across FlexPod converged systems, StorageGrid object storage, SnapManager integration SW, and NetApp Validated Architectures – driving changes in strategy, engineering, and GTM for growth. I then joined Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center as SVP, Data Center Initiative, and became President and CEO of Stellus Technologies, leading Samsung Electronics' first ever spinout. After earning a Chicago MBA in Finance and Marketing, I joined Microsoft. My GM roles included business development, strategy, and management for platforms and tools; product management and marketing for SQL Server, BizTalk Server, and Azure var

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's career trajectory is heavily focused on executive leadership, product strategy, and general management within large, established technology companies. This indicates a strong fit for roles requiring strategic vision, market leadership, and cross-functional collaboration at a senior executive level. However, for a 'Software Engineer' role, the cultural fit is low due to the significant disparity between their executive experience and the hands-on, individual contributor nature of a software engineering position. Their project diversity is high in terms of business domains (security, cloud, storage, databases) but consistently at a strategic/managerial level.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen through their extensive experience in senior management roles. Their ability to launch new initiatives, manage large teams, and drive market success indicates excellent operational fit for strategic and leadership positions. However, the target role is 'Software Engineer', which is a significant mismatch with the candidate's executive-level experience. While they have a technical background (Electrical Engineering), their recent roles are far removed from hands-on software engineering.
