St George's College Solar Energy Initiative
October 1, 2012 – Present
The project began as an investigation to plan, research and financial analyse the viability of investing in solar panels to be placed on the roofs of the college's buildings. With integration with the student run Environmental Committee at the college, St George's now has a 68kW solar panel system that is estimated to produce 116,574kWh of electricity per year. This project not only resulted in a first year saving of $35,000 to the electricity bill, but approaches limits where the college will not draw any power from the grid during daylight hours.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse project portfolio, ranging from environmental initiatives to large-scale enterprise solutions, indicates a broad interest and adaptability. Their experience in consulting roles (Telstra Purple, Readify) suggests an ability to work with various clients and adapt to different organizational cultures. The career break for personal well-being, followed by a focus on new technical learning, suggests a balanced approach to work and personal development. However, the target role of 'Data Analyst' is a step down from their recent 'Principal Software Engineer' and 'Principal Engineer' roles, which might indicate a potential mismatch in career trajectory or expectations, impacting long-term cultural fit if not addressed.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Principal Engineer and Lead Consultant demonstrates strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder communication skills. Their involvement in mentoring and collaborating with various teams indicates a collaborative work attitude. The career break for health and well-being, coupled with self-directed learning, suggests resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement. However, without psychometric test results, a definitive assessment of stress handling and team collaboration is limited.
