Final project for Computational Photography (CS6475)
April 1, 2016 – May 1, 2016
This is my final project for CS6475, Computational Photography. It is an implementation of "A Neural Algorithm of Artistic Style", a fascinating paper from 2015 which gives a way of using neural networks to create a new image which blends the content of one image with the style of another image. The intention was that the rest of the class could clearly comprehend the mathematics and the algorithm with the help of the programming skills already acquired in the class (i.e. Python, NumPy, and OpenCV).
HaskellEmbedded blog
January 1, 2015 – Present
A blog devoted to the use of the functional language Haskell in embedded systems development; also, the maintainer of the Ion library for embedded realtime programming (https://github.com/HaskellEmbedded/ion)
Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's project portfolio shows a strong interest in niche and advanced technical areas (Haskell in embedded systems, neural style transfer). While technically impressive, the projects and experience lean heavily towards Machine Learning Engineering, Embedded Systems, and Computer Vision, which is a significant deviation from a pure 'Data Analyst' target role. This might indicate a preference for more research-oriented or development-heavy roles rather than pure data analysis. The diversity of roles (freelance, consultant, engineer) suggests adaptability, but the core technical focus might not be a direct cultural fit for a standard Data Analyst team without a strong ML/CV component.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's project descriptions indicate an ability to explain complex technical concepts (e.g., 'A Neural Algorithm of Artistic Style' project). Experience in freelance and consultant roles suggests adaptability and problem-solving skills. The long tenure at Etegent Technologies (across different roles) indicates loyalty and growth within an organization. However, specific soft skill assessments are not available.
