Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) for a Global Supply Chain Leader

In partnership with a GSI, we recently completed a transformative engagement with a Global 500 manufacturer, helping them overhaul their global supply chain operations using Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL). The outcomes have been nothing short of game-changing. Challenge: The client operated 12 global supply centers and over 100 distribution partners. Despite previous AI investments, they were plagued by reactive planning, siloed decision-making, and regional inefficiencies. Traditional ML models and single-agent optimizers failed to keep up with the dynamic complexity of global logistics. Solution: We deployed a custom-built MARL system featuring a network of intelligent agents operating within a digital twin of the client’s full supply chain. These agents—each representing functions such as procurement, routing, and pricing—learned to adapt, negotiate, and optimize in real-time. Key Deliverables: • Digital twin simulation environment built on NVIDIA Omniverse • MARL agent development using RLLib, trained in a scalable AWS GPU environment • Full observability stack with OpenTelemetry and Grafana • Governance and reward modeling to align agent behavior with business KPIs • Pilot deployment in two key regions, followed by a phased global rollout Predicted Results: • 18% reduction in logistics operating costs • 22% improvement in demand forecasting accuracy • Increased resiliency and responsiveness across supply chain disruptions Why It Matters: This wasn’t just another AI implementation. It was the launch of a continuously learning, adaptive system—a true ecosystem of intelligent agents capable of driving measurable impact at enterprise scale.
Integrated Remedy, Ivanti and ServiceNow ITSM platforms for a US Bank going through a Merger and Acquisition phase

In partnership with ServiceNow and a Global SI my team and I designed and implemented a solution that integrated Remedy and Ivanti ITSM in platforms under ServiceNow via integration hub and APIs and created real-time AI driven workflows to ensure a holistic customer service experience for 150,000 users for a US bank. We successfully completed the project with little to no disruption to the banks operations reducing costs by $15M annually.
New AI driven Patient Information and Care Solution for ICU for Large US Hospital

Provided CIO Advisory Consulting to the CIO, CTO. and ICU team for a large US hospital who required an immediate solution for the ICU staff to be able to enter and retrieve patient information during the COVID pandemic at scale and with all required security and governance. As the lead architect and project managed, and in partnership with ServiceNow, UIPath, Microsoft, Arrow Electronics and a large global SI, my team of 75 off shore engineers and I designed an AI/ML driven mobile device that enabled ICU staff to use voice commands to enter and retrieve patient information while restricted by COVID required protective gear. We delivered the full solution in 9 months with initial delivery of the top requirements in 30 days with no disruption to ICU operations.
Developed Realtime Access to Snowflake for a Regional Hospital to Enable Python Coders to Create ML Models Utilizing AWS SageMaker

Brought in by a large global SI to provide CTO Advisory Consulting, create an IT roadmap, be the lead architect and high lever project manager for a regional hospital that wanted to enable its application development team to quickly and easily leverage Snowflake data for create ML Models to drive new business outcomes. In partnership with the SI, Snowflake and AWS, my team leveraged AWS SageMaker to enable Python programmers to quickly and easily develop ML models with little no knowledge of the Snowflake and provide the required business outcomes.
Azure Data Lake with AI/ML Driven Analytics for Large Healthcare Provider

Lead Consultant / Architect on implementing an Azure Data Lake, to bring all its data together in one place at scale. By providing healthcare teams real time dashboards with a single version of the truth driven by Azure predictive AL/ML regarding the current and future status of patients and recommended care, we reduced decision latency resulting in a higher level and more affective level of care resulting in an associated reduction in the average length of patience stay and reduced costs.
Mainframe COBOL Refactoring for Large European Bank

Large well know global SI brought my team and I into a failed Mainframe COBOL Modernization / Refactoring Project that had been utilizing Blu Age out of France to migrate COBOL to AWS for a large European bank. The project was 12 months behind, had no applications migrated and had cost the bank over $35M in down time. My team and I competed a 90 assessment and developed a 2-year migration roadmap leveraging Microfocus, a Polish COBOL conversion engine and created an AI driven DevOps process that successfully converted 1,750 COBOL applications to AWS with no disruption to banking operations. Please note that this same Global SI brought my team and I into several other Blu Age projects that were in need of assistance.

In partnership with multiple well known technology software providers and System Integrators, we ingested / virtualized data residing on IBM zServers, Azure and AWS hyperscalers and Linux boxes with data housed in Oracle, SQL Server ultizing Terradata, Informatica and, Cloudra providing access to analysts utilizing Tableau and Microsoft anlyast tools and application development teams usins Java and .net.
Migrated Major European Manufacturing Firm from Mainframe to the Cloud

Provided Advisory Consulting to a well-known European Manufacturing firm that had implemented a large number of IoT devices into its manufacturing process and therefore needed to completely transform its business to be more agile and responsive. After completely an extensive assessment, I recommended moving off the mainframe to a hybrid cloud environment with a data lake and an Open API based middleware layer. In partnership with several EMEA SIs and Microsoft, we successfully moved thousands of VMWARE and Oracle Workloads to Azure with no disruption to their business and simultaneously setup an applications development Center or Excellence (COE) with DevOps for development in the new environment. The results saved the 35% on previous years IT budgets producing very high ROI and enabled the client to become much more agile and drive new business outcomes at scale.
Fraud Prevention for US Regional Bank with AWS SageMaker

Provided AI/ML CIO Advisory Consulting and, partnership with AWs and a large well-known SI, was lead architect and project manager to a large US Regional Bank to automate detection of suspicious transactions and other anomalous behavior faster and with a higher percentage of accuracy. Utilizing Amazon SageMaker, my team build ML models leveraging Random Cut Forrest and XGBoost to detect suspicious transactions before they occurred and automatically alerted the bank, its customers. We increase the speed and accuracy of fraud prevention by 73% and reduced the cost to the bank by 36%. Through CIO connections from the first bank, we implemented this same solution at 5 other smaller regional banks over the next 3 years.
Modernized Access to Hogan for a Large US Regional Bank

Completed an extensive assessment and created a Hogan Modernization Roadmap for a large US Regional Bank that had lost its ability to maintain Hogan and associated mainframe application due to the retirement of its legacy engineering staff. In partnership with several well-known US based SIs, AWS and ServiceNow, we created an API layer to allow data from multiple Hogan modules to an on-prem AWS landing zone in near real time, enabled JSON access via Java applications and created an integration with ServiceNow. We further setup a modern applications development Center or Excellence (CoE) to support the modernization and development of a new generation of banking applications. This Hogan modernization project provided the bank with the ability to create a mobile customer experience with real-time information and also provided much needed customer information to market new banking products to existing and new clients.
IOT/AI/ML based Asset Management and AI Analytics Solution for State Department of Transportation

Sold, Consulted, Designed and Implemented an IOT/AI/ML based Asset Management Solution for State Department of Transportation (DOT) to monitor and analyze 125,000 physical DOT asset and develop actionable information such as snow removal plans, road construction plans and traffic management plans. My team was responsible for the software / monitoring / edge AI side of the project. We partnered with Avent for the hardware / connections and Verizon was called in for communications for production. The POC was actually hard wired and stagged in a parking lot. The phased rolled out was moved to 5G. On the software side, they wanted a cloud solution, so we leveraged a very early version of the Azure IOT platform with edge AI and Digital Twins for continuous evaluation and testing of results. Please note that we also integrated ServiceNow ITOM / ITAM / CMDB to ensure we had very clean asset information and used the ServiceNow monitoring function with automated alerts and ticket submission with some automated remediation. We switched to Datadog and the Elastic ELK stack in Phase 2.
Mainframe Modernization for Large Global Manufacturing Company

A large, multinational manufacturing company wanted to modernize its legacy applications to better meet customer needs, reduce costs, increase productivity and reduce decision latency at scale. In partnership with Microsoft, we conducted a current state study of all legacy applications and data and created a future state road map for application and data modernization. Starting with 4,500 legacy applications. we retired 700 and created a factory to containerize and move 800 applications to an Azure cloud landing zone with Azure Data pipelines to legacy data. Our future state accomplishments resulted in 35% IT savings, reduced decision latency by 40% resulting in a 25% increase in customer satisfaction.

Migrated Oracle Workloads to Oracle Exadata Running on an On-Prem AWS Cloud for a Large Regional Hospital

Provided Advisory Consulting, Architecture and implementation Consulting Services for large regional hospital to increase the speed, agility and reduce the cost of Oracle workloads running on a legacy Oracle database. In partnership with AWS, Oracle, a regional SI, and a combination of our on-shore / on-site project management team and our off-shore Oracle engineering resources, we moved over 2,000 Oracle workloads, reduced processing time for high priority access users and reduced the overall cost of running and maintaining these workloads by over 25% with little to no disruption of daily hospital IT requirements while driving new business outcomes at scale.
Modern Software Asset Management (SAM) for Global Manufacturing Company

Client was an existing ServiceNow customer with 100,000 employees in 12 countries and 78,000+ IT assets that sought to overhaul their entire home-grown IT Asset Management (ITAM) environment to drive efficiencies and ensure future scalability. As the seller, consultant / architect and in partnership with several other well-known System Integrators and technology providers, my team leveraged ServiceNow's ITOM, ITAM, CMDB and workflow engines along with Java and Mulesoft to create a global SAM that enabled the client to sunset software assets totally $15M per year in license fees and reduced the overall IT spend by 20%. In addition, IT Support reduced MTTD/MTTR by 35%.
