Full-stack Data Leader | Player-Coach
I've always been more interested in problems than tools. Math was a tool for physics. Physics was a tool for learning to work with data at scale. And data, it turns out, is a tool for building things that actually matter. At Oscar Health, I led teams building the data products and governance frameworks that powered better decisions across the organization. I believe governance is most durable when it manifests as products people choose to use rather than policies they're forced to follow. That philosophy shaped everything we built. Previously, I was a machine learning engineer at Dia&Co, owning ML products end-to-end from business requirements through production. Before that, I was an experimental physicist at CERN, searching for rare signals in petabyte-scale datasets. The tools keep changing. The instinct to reach for the right one doesn't. I'm a player-coach. I've led multi-functional teams spanning analytics engineers, data scientists, and data managers while staying hands-on with code and data models. My job as a manager is to expand what my team is capable of, not just extract what they already have. At Oscar, that meant adopting LLMs alongside my team, including non-technical data managers who used them to build platforms from scratch. The right question isn't "will AI replace my team?" It's "how do I help my team operate at a different order of magnitude?" Through the twists and turns of my career, what drives me hasn't changed: technically hard problems, people who bring sharp minds and genuine humanity, and a mission that actually matters. I'm excited to find out what comes next.
