GitHub
I lead GitHub Education (https://github.com/education) in GitHub's Developer Relations organization, helping learners access the tools and resources they need to successfully build software products. Our mission is to empower anyone who wants to code, to be able to do so. I also volunteer with Internet-in-a-Box. I am passionate about working with learners and educators of all kind to make coding and content available to the next generation around the globe. Previously, I led product and programs for Amazon's AGI Foundations organization, delivering AI capabilities for AGI customers, including LLM capabilities for Alexa. I also built the central business operations and developer engagement functions for the Alexa AI organization and worked with senior leaders to turn grassroots efforts into sustainable, innovative, org-wide efforts that support the Alexa science community and enable delightful experiences for Alexa customers. As part of my work at Amazon, I served as executive sponsor of the Women at Amazon Boston chapter, which provides support to Boston-based women as they navigate careers in STEM. Prior to that, I built solutions for the MGH Lab of Computer Science, Learning Lab (simulation center), and Primary Care practices using open source software and hardware. I am the 2017 winner of the Red Hat-sponsored Women in Open Source Community Award for my efforts to empower kids to change their lives through technology and my work with Kids on Computers to set up computer labs with Linux and free and open source software worldwide.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience, including leadership roles in education and non-profit work, suggests a strong cultural fit for organizations valuing social impact and mentorship. Their long tenure at Amazon and Yahoo! indicates loyalty and adaptability within large corporate structures. However, the target role is 'Frontend Developer', and the candidate's recent career trajectory has been heavily focused on management rather than direct technical contribution, which might indicate a mismatch in current career aspirations or hands-on technical readiness for a pure development role.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's extensive experience in leadership and program management roles at large organizations like Amazon and GitHub suggests strong organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills. Their involvement in non-profit work (Kids on Computers, Yahoo! Women in Tech) indicates a proactive and community-oriented mindset. However, the recent shift away from hands-on frontend engineering might require re-evaluation of current technical depth.
