Cross Lingual Word Semantic Similarity Detection and its Usage in Linked Open Data (MTech Thesis)
June 1, 2014 – Present
The title of my M.Tech thesis is “Cross Lingual Word Semantic Similarity Detection and its Usage in Linked Open Data”. The main contribution of this work is as follows: 1. Cross Lingual Word Semantic Similarity for English and Hindi 2. Literature Survey on Linked Open Data 3. Linking of IndoWordNet Using Sense Embedding Download the abstract for more information: http://nlp.unigoa.ac.in/apurv/publication/MTechAbstract.pdf
Shallow Parser Tools for Indian Languages
May 1, 2014 – Present
The main aim of this project is to build Shallow Parser Tools which are essential for Indian Language Technology Development. I was working for Konkani Language technology development team. Where we tried to devloped Morphological Analyser for Konkani using Morph Analyser engine provided by CALTS, School of Humanities, University Of Hyderabad.
Sentiment Analysis Using Machine Learning Techniques
April 1, 2014 – Present
This was our Machine Learning project under the guidance of Shri. Bhaskar S. Sentiment analysis aims to determine the attitude of a speaker or a writer with respect to some topic or the overall contextual polarity of a document. In this task we analysed the movie reviews whether they are postive or negative. Several NLP techniques were used to achieve above task. The dataset used was obtained from aclImdb. And it was trained on Neural Network.
IndoWordNet Conversion to Web Ontology Language (OWL)
December 1, 2013 – Present
This work describes a data representation for IndoWordNet based on Web Ontology Language (OWL). The main components of WordNet database are transformed as classes in OWL, and the relations between synsets or lexcial words are transformed as OWL properties.
IndoWordNet API
August 1, 2012 – Present
Implementation of IndoWordNet API (Application Programming Interface) in Java and PHP as a part of Indradhanush WordNet Project for creation of different WordNet related tools and softwares under the guidance of Shri Ramdas Karmali.
WordNet CMS
August 1, 2011 – Present
Implementation of WordNet CMS (Content Management System) as a part of Indradhanush WordNet Project that dynamically creates WordNet websites for different Indian languages with minimum input and effort from the website creator. The Konkani WordNet website deployed using WordNet CMS can be viewed at http://konkaniwordnet.unigoa.ac.in/
Rule based Morphological Analyzer for Konkani
July 1, 2011 – Present
A rule-based Morph Analyzer for Konkani language was developed as a part of our B.E project under the guidance of Ms. Shilpa Desai. A Morph Analyzer does the following: You can type a word and get it's analysis. The analysis gives the root and other features such as gender, number, tense etc.
Natural Language Processing

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a strong background in research and development, particularly in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, which aligns well with innovative and data-driven environments. The progression through various roles at Trinka.ai and Crimson AI (Senior, Principal, Director) indicates loyalty and growth within organizations. The diversity of projects, from academic research to industry applications, suggests adaptability and a broad interest in the field. However, the target role is 'Data Analyst', while the candidate's experience is heavily skewed towards 'Machine Learning Engineer' and 'Data Scientist' with leadership responsibilities. This might indicate a potential mismatch in day-to-day responsibilities and expectations, as a Data Analyst role typically involves more data extraction, cleaning, visualization, and reporting, rather than leading ML model development and deployment. While the underlying analytical skills are present, the specific focus of the target role might not fully leverage the candidate's senior ML/NLP expertise.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience in leadership roles (Director, Principal Data Scientist) suggests strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, team management, and communication skills. Project descriptions indicate an ability to understand product and business requirements, which is crucial for operational fit. The description of the Haptik Inc. role highlights impact (saving 70% operational cost) and initiative (open-sourcing ChatbotNER), demonstrating a results-oriented approach.
