Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer
I like doing research, but I like it best when it can be applied to solve real world problems. My most recent contributions have been on anomaly detection in time series for cloud systems. In the past I've worked on a diverse set of applications, ranging from using computer vision to identify products in retail stores to recommender systems for online advertising (with or without images!). The common challenge? Making sure that the algorithms I put to production are the best that can be produced for the context. I've had the chance to work with a large number of machine-learning algorithms, from kmeans, bags-of-features, kernels and SVMs in the early days, to logistic regression, gbdt, deep neural networks like resnets, transformers, GANs as well as the never-too-old nearest neighbors. I've worked on large-scale distributed systems at Criteo and Datadog scales, using map-reduce, Spark, Kafka, as well as in-house frameworks. I also like giving talks, you can check most of them on slideshare: https://www.slideshare.net/AnneMarieT2/presentations Note: If you would like to connect with me and we haven't met before, I'll appreciate a few words to introduce yourself. Thanks!

Managing Your Career as an Introvert
June 24, 2026 – Present
Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience across research, startups (Planorama, Echo Analytics), and large tech companies (Criteo, Datadog) suggests adaptability to different organizational cultures. The long tenure at Criteo and Datadog indicates stability. The career break for 'professional development' and 'personal projects' could indicate a desire for growth and autonomy, which might align well with innovative environments. The target role of Machine Learning aligns perfectly with the candidate's extensive background.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's career progression from R&D engineer to Lead Machine Learning Engineer and Lead Researcher indicates strong leadership potential, problem-solving abilities, and a capacity for driving technical initiatives. The description of working cross-platform during PhD suggests adaptability. The 'Managing Your Career as an Introvert' certification might indicate self-awareness and a proactive approach to professional development.
