Robot and Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer
I am an experienced robotics and artificial intelligence engineer, researcher, and manager. As an engineer, I value thoughtful and pragmatic technical design and maintainable code, and have shipped production software to thousands of deployed robots (in health care, consumer, and education markets). As a researcher, I have won and PI-ed research grants, and I have academic background in machine learning (especially reinforcement learning). As a manager, I have built and led a multidisciplinary engineering team. I have particular expertise in integrating foundational robotic capabilities into coherent, autonomous, interactive, human-centered applications for new robot products. I want to make robots that make the world a better place.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's extensive background is heavily concentrated in robotics and AI, with a strong focus on research and development of autonomous systems and character AI. While this demonstrates deep specialization, the target role of 'Data Analyst' represents a significant pivot. The candidate's experience in data collection, behavioral learning, and optimization could be transferable, but direct experience with typical data analyst tools, methodologies (e.g., advanced SQL, BI tools, statistical modeling for business insights, A/B testing), and domain-specific data analysis projects is not explicitly detailed. This suggests a potential gap in direct cultural fit for a pure data analyst role, though their analytical and problem-solving skills are high.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's resume indicates strong leadership, project management (ScrumMaster certification), and communication skills through roles like Boston Studio Manager and Field Applications Robotics Engineer, where they trained users and advised sales/marketing. Experience as a Teaching Assistant also highlights communication and mentorship abilities. The descriptions suggest a proactive and problem-solving attitude, as seen in unblocking elevator autonomy and optimizing robot behaviors.
